The round hack multiplier is a double value, which means you get a round number like this: 208.38924. Change the value of your address to any number >14 if you try a lower number, you can crash the game (15 and 20 are the safest). Do the following in the exact order: Set the address to "Active". Remarkably consistent in a variety of wind conditions, the Sun Ninja 4 Person Tent is very pleasant to sit under-no matter how strong the sun-and packs away into a small carrying case that’s easy to throw over your shoulder (it weighs just over 7 pounds). We also have recommendations for people who prefer more shelter from the wind. While the Shibumi maximizes your shade without intruding on close neighbors, it requires a steady coastal wind to work-and it costs more. The Sun Ninja requires plenty of beach space but tolerates variable wind conditions. Of the seven shades we tested, our two favorites, the Sun Ninja 4 Person Tent and the Shibumi Shade, meet all of those demands, but they suit different circumstances. It should be easy to carry, intuitive to set up, and sturdy in the wind without collapsing. There is a better way: the sunshade.Ī good sunshade provides consistent protection from the sun over a large area while maintaining a comfortable amount of headroom. On top of that, even if your umbrella does remain stationary, you spend most of your day chasing the meager, postage-stamp-sized patch of shade it provides as if you’re some deranged sundial. I’m sure I’m not the only beachgoer who’s witnessed umbrellas uprooting and tumbling into sunbathing neighbors despite all efforts. One of my earliest beach memories is the sight of my father chasing a large, colorful umbrella down the sands on a particularly windy day on the Maine coast. A career of 50 new levels across five worlds – this time themed after Hollywood genres like westerns and a zombie-fied carnival – 50 Spots, the Daily Grind, the Tricktionary (which, if you couldn’t tell, is the full list of tricks) and the Skatepark tutorial section, the latter two expanded for all the new moves. In terms of content, OlliOlli2 is largely the same. With a ton of quality-of-life upgrades and an update to the game’s aesthetic, OlliOlli2 changes the core gameplay just enough that it doesn’t kick the original out of the conversation. Even at its most hectic, the slow-building grooves of artists like Qemists, Dorian Concept, Flako and DFRNT keeps you centered, motivated and in-tune with the rhythm of OlliOlli ’s grinds, landings and constant faceplanting.Īll of the above also applies to the sequel, OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood, a near-perfect follow-up that builds upon and polishes the foundation that the original laid. Randomly selecting one of the game’s 50 Spots, each player has 24 hours to practice the Spot and, with just one attempt, set a score on the daily leaderboard.Īn indie-jazz-electronica soundtrack rounds out the game, this blend of relaxing, funky tracks (with a couple of faster, heavier tracks) that matches the chilled mood of the gameplay itself. Lastly, there’s OlliOlli ’s Daily Grinds, Roll7’s answer to the daily modes in Spelunky, Binding of Isaac and all those other popular roguelikes. They complement the main campaign very well (especially for portable play) where the campaign becomes increasingly platformer-focused and less about free-form skating (this is also true of the sequel), Spots are tight shots of arcade goodness that simply let you skate for high scores, either against yourself or the online leaderboards. Spots make up the arcade mode of OlliOlli, an addictive score-attack mode built for short bursts. OlliOlli also includes 50 Spots, which are each unlocked after beating any level once. It serves as both a tutorial mode, pushing you to really learn the tricks and their timing to complete the objectives (five per level) and as a pseudo-2D platformer, becoming genuinely harder and more complex over time. Completing any Amateur level unlocks the next, and beating all objectives on a given level unlocks the Pro version of that level. OlliOlli ’s campaign is made up of 25 Amateur levels and 25 Pro levels across five themed worlds. It all adds up to a system that’s fun to come back to again and again, whether it’s to push through the campaign, beat high scores on a Spot or play the Daily Grind. Similar to the style meter in the Devil May Cry series, consistency and variety earns the highest scores.Īside from basic tricks, players can grind on railings, add rotation mid-air, make perfect landings and maintain a combo (multiplying your final score) to earn more points and boost your overall high score. The more complex tricks, like a laserflip’s left-to-down-half-circle command, earn more points but are naturally tougher to pull off consistently.Īlmost every stick turn is attached to a different move, which means that pulling off any trick can feel like mashing directions, and since tricks are easy to pull off individually, OlliOlli focuses on variety. Flicking the stick straight up performs an ollie, flicking to the right pulls off a kickflip and the left a heelflip. You pull off tricks through motions on the left analogue stick (or d-pad), similar to moves in Street Fighter. OlliOlli ’s controls are the highlight, however – still wonderfully intuitive years after release. Your little skater dude is fragile and is wrecked by most falls, necessitating a (painless) restart. You skate from left to right across its fixed, intricate levels, pulling off tricks to complete level objectives or beat high scores. Set on a side-scroller 2D plane, OlliOlli is a skating game that plays somewhere between Tony Hawk Pro Skater and endless runner Canabalt. They’re as impressive as they were back at release but now, with the Switch-only bundle (if you couldn’t tell by the title), the original OlliOlli and OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood have found their best home yet. Released barely a year apart, both OlliOlli titles are completely distinct, with their own identities that go beyond surface-level differences and reach down into the roots of the gameplay. Although they’re built with the same bones, the two games included in Roll7’s OlliOlli: Switch Stance are – remarkably – very different beasts. Once you register an account with OpenDNS, you can tell the service how to manage your DNS requests from your OpenDNS dashboard. By tweaking a few settings in your router or on your computer, you can skip your ISP’s DNS servers and use OpenDNS instead. OpenDNS is still an intermediary between you and the Internet, but it’s more like a concierge than a middleman. OpenDNS is an alternative to these generic “dumb” middleman DNS servers. They resolve domain names and not much else. Most DNS servers are pretty plain vanilla one size fits all affairs. If you have FiOS, you’ll use Verizon’s DNS servers. For example, if you have Comcast, all your Internet requests go through Comcast’s DNS servers before getting to the actual website you are trying to reach. To see what I mean, try punching into your web browser and see where it takes you.īy default, DNS is handled by your ISP. Without DNS, you would have to type in the actual IP addresses whenever you wanted to access a website. This is the service on the Internet that takes the domains you type into your browser (,, ) and translates them into the IP addresses that correspond to the physical server where these websites are located (64.90.59.127, 69.171.229.14, 74.125.137.100). Without getting too deeply into the technical nitty-gritty, here’s how OpenDNS works:ĭNS stands for Domain Name System. With OpenDNS set up, you should immediately see the benefits of OpenDNS’s huge caches of domain names (increasing speed and reliability) and built-in protections against known phishers and phonies on the web. If you don’t, try some of the troubleshooting steps below. You should see a screen that looks like this: The next step is to test to see if OpenDNS is working. Otherwise, you’d have to do this manually from your OpenDNS dashboard, and you’d lose your OpenDNS benefits whenever your IP address changed (as dynamic IP addresses occasionally do). This lightweight service runs on one of your computers and keeps your IP updated on your OpenDNS account. If you have a dynamic IP address, it’s an excellent idea to download the OpenDNS Updater. If you are in a school or office, you can ask your systems administrator if you have a dynamic or static IP address. For the vast majority of users, you’ll also check the “Yes, it is dynamic” box. On the next screen, give your network a name (it doesn’t matter what). Don’t change what’s shown on your screen.) (Note this screenshot is just an example. Track web activity on your home network.Boost the speed and reliability of your web browsers. While you can start out with just a simple, single temperature soldering iron and a roll of solder, I’ve found that the investment in a variable-temperature soldering station pays off. Keep practicing your soldering technique until you are comfortable with it before you attempt it in the most confined spaces of a motorcycle. Then wrap it with electrical tape or shrink-wrap to prevent any accidental grounding against other wires or connectors. It looks ugly and will make the splice much larger once it’s covered with tape.Īfter the splice has cooled, trim any loose wires that could poke through the tape or shrink wrap. While you want the solder to cover most of the splice, try to avoid leaving big globs of solder on the joint. Touch the iron and solder to a few points on the splice to make sure it is uniformly spread throughout the wire strands. Capillary action plays an important role in distributing the solder throughout the splice. Holding the iron below the wires allows the heat to travel upwards while gravity pulls the molten solder down. Instead, allow the iron to heat the wire to the point that it melts the solder. When melting the solder to the wires, try not to touch the iron with the solder. This helps to spread out the heat when the tip touches the wires. Sometimes, however, tape is the only option in the limited space in which you’re creating the splice.īefore touching the soldering tip to the wires, tin the tip by melting a small amount of solder on it. I’ve also used the Posi-Locks as wire connectors in locations where the joint may periodically need to be disconnected.Īll three of these splices have been shrink-wrapped. This produces a strong, electrically sound joint that I’ve used for years when there’s not enough room to solder. Slide the plastic collar over the wire end and then screw the collar and wire into the Posi-Lock body to a strong finger-tight. With Posi-Lock connectors, strip about a half-inch of insulation from the wire ends but don’t twist the individual strands. Throw them away and either learn to solder or use Posi-Lock connectors, which are a little more expensive, but I’ve yet to have one fail. The most common connectors you’ll find in aftermarket kits are the crimp-on wire taps. A motorcycle’s vibration can loosen the tap and cause intermittent connection failures or just make it pop off the wire. The piece on the right cuts through a wire’s insulation, possibly damaging the wire strands within. Turn On: How To Install Switched Accessory Power To Your Motorcycle Anyone, even someone whose hands shake as much as mine do, can learn to solder with a minimum expenditure of blood and treasure. The source of the splicing fear usually is ignorance about soldering, which apparently many feel should only be done at midnight, during the full moon by a practitioner of the dark arts. Never fear, it is perfectly acceptable to splice wires if done correctly. However, soldering is also a great source of distress amongst novices. Soldering uses a hot iron to heat the wires to a temperature that will melt the solder, which when it cools takes care of the sturdy physical connection and the electrical conductivity. Mechanical connectors which physically clamp the wires together or to a common conductor are the easiest, but they take up more room and particular kinds are prone to failure. This can be done a couple of different ways. Wire splicing is the process of physically connecting two or more wires to make a mechanically strong, electrically sound path. While cutting your motorcycle’s wiring harness is not to be taken lightly and should only be attempted when you are certain as to which wires should be cut – by, say, obtaining the factory service manual – the process isn’t really that scary. Upon a little digging, the bugaboo is usually fear of splicing wires into the bike’s harness. Time and again, I’ve had people tell me that they are afraid to modify their bike’s wiring harness to install a new accessory. Keep the fresh air in and the stormy weather out by equipping your vehicle with AVS External Mount Vent Visors. This entry was posted in 5th Gen Mods, Accessories, Trail Tested. There are many reasons why these work so well for so many people but the choice is up to you! If reducing wind noise while driving and having fresh air is important, I would grab a set. If you like letting fresh air in while it’s raining, you should grab them. If you are the smoking or vaping type, they are a must. These are not for everyone, but I like them. Rain Guards and Window Deflectors (Are they for you?) Having a set of these on the trail a huge benefit when you are exploring nature in so-so weather. Most importantly so you can breath fresh air and not have your cabin be so stuffy, also fresh air keeps your windows clear. When you are on-road or off-road and it’s raining or snowing, you still need some fresh air. The important thing for most owners is keeping the rain out. There is a reason why Auto Ventshade (AVS) has the most reviews, the highest reviews, and the most uploads of 4Runners. While some of these companies make decent rain guards, the majority sticks with AVS. There are plenty of options out there but the one we are talking about with the link above is probably the best. The Ventvisors have not budged a 1/4 inch. As I said, it has been three years and they have sat in the same place this entire time. Incredibly easy, just like the emblem kit. All you do is peel off the 3M backing and slap them on. Easy to InstallĪVS has designed these to be added in minutes. I have had these on the 5th Gen Trail 4Runner for a little over three years now and there is absolutely not one complaint. Made in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty, this product is sure to last the weather at hand. The AVS low profile Ventvisor is the go-to in our community. Although this is an incredibly simple mod, it does serve its purpose. Low profile is just about the complete vision of my entire 4Runner, so this fits right in. What I like about this particular set is that they are an incredibly low profile set-up. They also call this thing a Ventvisor? I have never called it that but to each their own Low Profile Rain Guards and Window Deflectors
I recommend a neutral oil like canola, vegetable, or safflower. I also enjoy using TCHO, Scharffen Berger, and Lily’s sugar-free chocolate. A melted Patric Chocolate bar yielded my favorite version of these cupcakes to date. When I make these for a special occasion and want something fancy, I reach for chocolate with less sugar and a more complex flavor. You can choose whatever type of chocolate you prefer to eat: milk, dark, or even flavored chocolate bars. The chocolate in these cupcakes doesn’t have to be one typically chosen for baking – any chocolate, bar, chips, or discs that don’t contain mix-ins (like nuts, Rice Krispies, nougat, etc.) will work. It’s unclear exactly how many episodes will be included in the first season, but there will be at least three. If melting in the microwave, heat the chocolate in short bursts to avoid burning or clumping. Viewers seem to be loving the intense competition and people are excited to see how the rest of the season will go. The Show Is Already Getting A Lot Of Attentionīig Time Bake is only 1 episode into its first season, but the show is already getting a lot of attention. After spending six hours in front of a hot oven, what could be better than getting the chance to get some well-deserved R&R? 10. So, what does a person get for being the best baker on Big Time Bake? The lucky winner will earn ” a dream vacation of their choice”. The show doesn’t seem to have a casting page, so it’s unclear how contestants were chosen. In fact, the network may have specifically reached out to a few people who have a history of doing cooking competition shows. There will likely be a few people who have already tried their luck on other shows. If you’ve watched a lot of other cooking competition shows, you may recognize some of the contestants on Big Time Bake. At the fourth hour, the person in the bottom spot will be eliminated. If they don’t start off on a good note, they won’t even make it to the end of the episode. One Baker Will Be Eliminated Before The 6th HourĬontestants will definitely have to bring their A game as soon as they step in the kitchen on Big Time Bake. Not only does this add an interesting layer for viewers, but it also makes it even harder for contestants. Each contestant on Big Time Bake will be responsible for making a cake, cookies, and cupcakes. If you’re the type of person who likes all types of baked goods, you’re in luck. Some of the guest judges include Nacho Aguirre, Ralph Attanasia, Zoe Francois, Tregaye Frasier, and Dan Langan. Throughout the season, he will also have guest judges who stop by the show to lend their expertise and try some (hopefully) delicious baked goods. There Will Be Different Guest Judges Throughout The Seasonīuddy Valastro is the host of the show and will also serve as a judge. According to TV Series Finale, each contestant will also have an assistant working with them in the kitchen. Fortunately, though, the contestants on Big Time Bake will get a little bit of extra help. Trying to cook under pressure isn’t an easy thing to do – no matter how talented of a baker you are. This will continue to happen every two hours until the six hours are over. After the first two hours, the judges will visit each station and do a taste test. At different points during the 6 hour duration, judges will come throw and do a taste test. Having a timer that never stops is already stressful, but there’s something else that will make this show unique. There Will Be Different Check Points During The 6 Hours Throughout the season, Big Time Bake will feature several different themes including fantasy. The Show Will Feature A Variety Of ThemesĪre you ready for another twist? Not only will bakers on the show be crunched for time, they’ll also have to make sure that their creations are in lined with the episodes theme. This means contestants will have to keep working while their creations are being judged. However, what sets Big Time Bake apart is that the clock never stops running – even when the constants are being judged. After all, that’s how almost all of them work. So you may be wondering what’s so special about a cooking competition show where the contestants are time. Keep reading for 10 things you didn’t know about Big Time Bake. According to the network, Big Time Bake, “is a six hour showdown with the competitors baking creative cookies, decadent cupcakes and a showpiece cake all inspired by a surprise theme.” If you like to see what cooks can do when their racing against the clock, this is one show you’ll want to tune in to. Hosted by the Cake Boss himself, Buddy Valastro, the show features a unique set of rules that will make the competition even more fierce. Just when you thought you’d seen every possible angle, The Food Network has found yet another twist with their new show, Big Time Bake. Cooking competition shows have become increasingly popular over the last several years. The apex of Japanese animation – to fans worldwide, all animation – is one of cinema’s finest tales of untrammeled imagination. Pinocchio will remain immortal as long as we draw, paint, tell tall tales and wish upon stars. A swirling adventure flecked with shame, rehabilitation, death and rebirth, the movie contains a universe of feelings. But those readings are like cracking open a snow globe to see that it’s only water. Cultural theorists have, for decades, discussed Pinocchio in psychosexual terms or as a guide to middle-class assimilation. The takeaway is hard to argue with: Don’t lie, to yourself or others. (Pinocchio’s extending schnoz is animation’s most sinister and profound metaphor.) It’s staggering to think of this material as intended for children, but that’s the power here, a conduit to the churning undercurrent of formulating identity. Disney’s second feature – originally a box-office bomb – begins with a sweetly singing cricket, yet plunges into scenes from a nightmare: in front of a jeering audience on a carnival stage into the belly of a monstrous whale beyond all human recognition. Its influence on fantasy is massive: Steven Spielberg quotes the soaring ballad ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’ in his dream project Close Encounters of the Third Kind (and remade the whole picture with his aching robot-boy adventure, A.I.). For example, early on you can collect Torm’s Favor to upgrade your total gold fine, or you can spend this currency on permanent upgrades, at the cost of some extra gold. Completing quests also nets you permanent upgrades. While each level has the same basic goal, and there are boss fights every five levels, different quests have different formations and requirements that will cause you to change your upgrade strategy each time. Each quest starts you off with a fresh reset of all your heroes, and gives you an objective with a certain number of levels. Then there is the quest structure to consider. So, you don’t want to just go with the most powerful heroes in your formation, you have to consider all the interactions between heroes, and their physical location in the formation matters a great deal as well. For example, a weak hero might be able to pick up several stat multipliers that could quadruple your most powerful hero’s damage, despite them only adding a rounding error to your total damage per second. See, you control the formation of the heroes, and different upgrades will cause the heroes to help other heroes out through stat upgrades. You then spend that gold on their upgrades, and while there’s the general pattern of “more expensive heroes do more damage," you can’t ignore any of your heroes either. You command an army of heroes that constantly march forward and attack automatically killing enemies and getting gold. If you haven’t played Crusaders of the Lost Idols, get prepared for the deepest clicker ever. Of course, you could say a lot of the same things about Crusaders, so while this is lacking in the originality department, it’s still a rather fun experience for somebody looking for the galaxy brain of idle clickers. That’s Idle Champions in a nutshell, and it’s quite the experience if you’re willing to dive into it. Take the structure of your average idle clicker, add in a dose of RPG elements with strategy as to how characters interact and enhance one another, and create different missions with a complex metagame that can give you hundreds of hours of gameplay.
